“When I selected the tracks for this mix, I wanted to talk about ‘love’. Hope you all listen to this mix while thinking of ‘love’ with your lover, friends, family, animals, etc. :).”

“When I was asked about the mix around a year ago, I put some records aside, such as the last tune. I also wanted to showcase some Swedish sounds, the first two, one fake reggae in the middle and one at the finish line (the French speaking one).
But of course always have some dub, Jamaican grooves, some hip-hop type beats, UK street soul and also got one italo in.
I really just wanted to make a sunny mix that, especially for us in northern countries, to dream about summer after five months of winter.”

“This mix reminds me of:
slowly drinking a sweet coffee in the morning;
sunshine;
my grandmother;
home.
I hope you enjoy it and take a moment to slow down and have a little dance. I hope the music transports you somewhere nice and warm.
Enjoy xx”

“In 2021 I published a book called ‘Post-House Music Disc Guide’. This mix based is on that idea, which includes proto-house and similar genres.”
Apricot 57: Prop Joe
“I loved putting this mix together, a concept that’s been on my mind for a while. Enjoy 90 minutes of music from entirely African artists / artists from African heritage. Mainly early SA House & Kwaito with a splash of soca & bubblegum to get the feet moving! Special thanks to Biko for helping out with a couple of the tracks in this one.”
Apricot 56: DJ Boeing
“I recorded this mix being surrounded by the chill of a grey day and missing hot summer days. A pinch of dub music, soca, merengue and even italo disco, house, freestyle and couple of my edits made me feel warmth☀️.”
Apricot 55: Gaz
“As I always say: ‘life is too short for bad music…’ Being born and raised in Kyrgyzstan; a Central Asian country with a blend of many cultures throughout the centuries, the type of music in this mix has always been in my playlists, but never had a chance, or the right crowd to play it. Thanks to @opium-underground (https://soundcloud.com/opium-underground) and @po-kaifu for inviting me to their regular parties taking place at PowerHouse. Please enjoy and remember: ‘never stop dancing…’”
Apricot 54: ChewChew
“In the midst of these tumultuous times, I’ve found refuge in the harmonies and rhythms of music, crafting a mix that captures the essence of the looming winter. Lately, I’ve been gravitating towards Lovers Rock and Dub Music. Perhaps there’s something in the air that calls for the warmth and optimism these genres exude. It’s my hope that this mix envelopes you in solace, bringing a beacon of positivity amid the prevailing chill. Let the melodies be your comforting blanket, reminding us all of the enduring power of music.”
Apricot 53: Danny Bodega
“Been very much on the romance of the endless summer tip musically and otherwise, and recorded this mix perhaps oddly on a rain lashed night in the dying days of London Summer. Mostly records picked up from travels last year and a couple CDs. Long afternoon holiday mode engagement for this one. Mainly musics from the Antilles and diaspora with full props to the makers, singers, players.”
Apricot 52: Kuta (Anima)
Apricot 51: La Roze
“This mix is a personal selection with lots of old favourites I love to play on Sundays at home. Also included is a track from the record we just released on @lovereaction.family.”
Apricot 50: Kiernan Abbott (Fragments in Wax)
“Right now feels like the tides are changing in all kinds of different ways and this mix was a pause in the chaos. In the past year I’ve often felt a little lost in this little venture, so the tracks selected here are the ones that slipped between the cracks. I took a peaceful moment to record this after a week of friendship back home in Wales – I hope listeners take a moment to enjoy this too.”
Apricot 49: Luma
Apricot 48: Babycino
“When putting this mix together, the aim was to keep it at a low slung tempo with fairly chuggy grooves to melt into.
Listening back, the mix seems to comprise of three parts. Starting off with a more psychedelic, balearic sound before moving into a few tropical trip hop flavours and street soul inspired tracks then finishing with more downtempo, acidic bubblers. If you listen closely, I’ve managed to slide in one of my own productions into the mix as well!
To me the mix has the overall feeling well suited to warm sunshine breaking through on a cold winters day. Hope you enjoy! 🌤“
Apricot 47: Evie
“This was a really fun mix to make and moves through a heap of different sounds and tempos that I don’t usually go to when I’m playing out. It’s the kind of selection that I love listening to when I’m just at home – lots of soft rock and 80s synth pop!”
Apricot 46: Typhoon Lady
“I recorded this mix a few days after coming back from Amsterdam where I met my newborn niece. Being back in Berlin and feeling a bit far away, I think the mix reflects the feelings of blissful joy mixed with a little melancholy. I hope you enjoy listening to it as we escape winter and move into sunny spring evenings. For Nuri.”

“After a long break in recording mixes.It was difficult to know what to put in. I’ve always had a love for pop music, from the feel good cheesy hits to the moody ones. So thought why not start there. This mix isn’t aimed at the dance floor but it does have a few euphoric moments to sing along too! It veers a little, but I hope it matches the early days of spring here in the UK.”
Apricot 43: Minh-Duc (Club Roquette)
“This mix is a very personal one I have wanted to do for a long time now. It puts together soothing music from different parts of the world but with a main balearic mood. It is meant to be listened to at home or in peaceful surroundings, when you are feeling low or need to rest in order to relax and escape a bit from the present moment, imagining yourself walking along the seashore at sunset time.”
Apricot 42: Sarita
“During the peak of the pandemic, I lived on a mountain with friends. Since we couldn’t travel, we imagined other places by listening to music from all over the world. This mix is a homage to that time – despite its difficulties, these remain precious musical memories. The mix brings together gwoka, spiritual jazz, afro funk, Afro Cuban rhythms, balearic, and ambient sounds. It’s designed to be listened to in nature or quiet places, alone or with friends.

The ones where you can brew yourself a nice coffee and enjoy a delicious breakfast. Where you can enjoy the day without worries. It features music that I thoroughly enjoy on such mornings and I hope you will enjoy them too on your lazy morning or any other good moment of the day.“

“The mix is a set I played at the wonderful urban art festival IBug, inspired by all the breathtaking art and the exhibiting artists from around the world. It’s a travel through time and space, an outernational island hopping trip through an archipelago of mostly Dub, Reggae and Downbeat.“

“The mix I’ve put together is a collection of some of my favourite ambient, jazz & Brazilian tracks that I’ve been wanting to play for a long time & thought this particular selection would suit the mix series well. “The guiding sound in this mix is the six-string guitar, virtually unrivaled in its cross-cultural adoption due to its simple versatility. Notes can be hammered and bent, tunings can be tweaked to match any scale and thanks to electric pickups, entire new universes of noise can be explored. Add that you can carry it on your back, it’s no surprise the guitar has traveled from Antananarivo to Zeytinburnu. Not every song in this mix features a guitar in the starring role, in these cases I urge you listen even more closely & pay attention to how it supports all the other instruments. Big shout out to @fragmentsinwax for providing two of the songs included in this mix, as always no borders on the dancefloor!”

“Voices in the afternoon haze, a strum, looking outward to faraway places – This mix is an exploration of folk and jazz sounds from around the world, just some of the many different colours that can be heard when delving into the sonic expressions of people and culture.”

“I tried to make a playlist fit for a Sudani bus driver’s USB stick, to be blasted from the bus entertainment system between Qur’an readings and Shaw Brothers productions. A soundtrack for slow journeys at the highest speeds.”

“This mix is the excuse for all the postcards we missed to write during various trips to Napoli. At our first arrival at 6am on some mid-september day back in 2017 we were instantly absorbed by the seething city with it’s narrow alleys and rough but passionate citizens. Of course we came across some Neapolitan records before but only through witnessing the pulse of the city we finally lost our hearts to the sweetness and pathos of Canzone. After various trips to Napoli and Sicily and thanks to the great tips of lovely people like Florian, Daniele and Massimo we finally managed to put this mix together. And we hope you enjoy it.”

“this mix puts a spotlight on the brief but influential “luk thung folk song” scene. following after popular bangkok café entertainer surachai folksong, a number of thailand’s biggest country music stars released albums in “folksong” style, recording stripped-down, coffeehouse-ready arrangements of guitar, bass and electric organ, courting an audience looking to soundtrack a night of relaxed drinking and socializing. hope this hour of music can serve you similarly!

“This mix is focused around late 90s / early 00s Indian hip hop tracks that I’ve been compiling and obsessed with for the past year or so. In my opinion most of these tunes cleanly hit that sweet spot of east meets west production, combining traditional vocals and instruments with heavy synths + bass 🔊🔊 Hope you enjoy!!“

“This mix is dedicated to Italian currents – our latest reissue resurfaces Bi Nostalgia’s minimal wonder Exemplum Rhythmicus from 1990 (originally released under the artist’s name Luca Rigato on the Veronese cassette label Diagrapho). It falls among the strange and definition resistant artefacts of Italy’s remarkable avant-garde music scene of the 1980s.
From within you will find a collection of sprawling Mediterranean sounds – a sonic exploration into many underwater worlds and dreamscapes: gleaming fantasy jams, softly piped synths and chiming cosmic melodies.
A laggy, sub-tropical mirage of Italian avant-garde gems.”

“This mix is not necessarily an uplifting one but an emotional one filled with strong longing for my country Lebanon and deep appreciation of modern and traditional Arabic music. It’s been heart breaking hearing the news of the series of explosions and fires which have been expediently destroying my country. Lebanon was already going through an economic crisis in the midst of the pandemic and prior to the pandemic it was waking up to a revolution led by its people to topple down their corrupt and dysfunctional government. Many friends and family over there are now struggling to make ends meet. Therefore, this mix is dedicated to them and to all the Lebanese people who are fighting for a better place. This mix is also an invitation to keep supporting Lebanon through donating to wonderful organisations such as the Lebanese Red Cross and the Lebanese Foodbank.“
